We use a topographer from German manufacturer WaveLight in our clinic. A topographer is a device that takes pictures of the cornea and using special software constructs a topographical chart of the cornea that is displayed in a computer connected to the device. A topographical chart is necessary for analysing diseases and investigating different parameters of the cornea. This information is necessary for the preparation of different operation parameters in case of eye surgery and for dynamic monitoring after surgery. Transmission of this data is facilitated by its compatibility with a refractive correction laser and the Wavelight Allegretto Wave Eye Q 400Hz excimer laser used in our clinic.

Topographical chart – known form of textbooks of geography where heights and depths are displayed in relation to the seal level using different colours (from dark blue to dark brown).
